1.How do you think Tom was revealed to the conspirators, and thus resulted in his death?
I think that Tom must have been careless, since he must have thought that all the conspirators had departed. Thus, the two remaining conspirators must have heard him descending the staircase and they must have killed him at that moment.
2.Can you suggest another method in which to discover if the peel tower had been recently used or not?
I think that another method would be to check and see if there were any clues in the stables, such as: grain that had fallen to the ground, or marks left from equipment, etc. The simple method would be to check the state of the peel tower. For example, the quantity of dust and rust remaining, etc.
3.Imagine you were a countryman in that period in history, that you disagreed with the Queen’s beliefs and would have liked to rid her of the throne. Would you have done the same thing the conspirators did, or would you have tried to discover another method to bring upon a new ruler? Why or why not? If you do disagree with the assassination of the Queen, what else would you have done?
If I were in the place of these men, I would probably not decide to have the queen murdered, for two main reasons. First of all, there would be too much bloodshed, and also, I would most probably be caught and hanged. I would have created
4.In the story, it is stated that according to the conspirators’ plan, a fellow actor was to be charged with murdering the Queen. Why do you think that that actor had agreed to those terms?
I think that this actor probably never received a leading role, and thus became too ambitious. The conspirators probably took that into consideration and bribed him.
5.The last chapter in our passage left us hanging with suspense; Peter was left unconscious in the peel tower, amongst the conspirators. What do you think they shall do to Peter? Do you think he will be able to escape?
I think that the conspirators will bring Peter to an island, where he will not be able to escape. They will probably force him to remain on that island until the arrival of Sir Philip. Yes, I do think that Peter will miraculously escape from his imprisonment.

peter and kit join the secret service of the queen. There they meet a man named tom boyd. Tom, Peter and kit travel to Cumberland from London, so that they can see if sir phillip’s attempt to assassinate the queen is in progress. During their trip they are disguised as villagers. They do so, so people do not realize who they are. This is important because kit and peter grew up in Cumberland, Kit in the eastern part and Peter in the western part. The group visits peter’s family. They stay in the stronghold (a place that has been fortified so as to protect it against attack -computer dictionary). They find an old tower, tom believes it is suspicious, so they observe it for the night. They then try to pick the lock, but they have to stop, because they see sir phillip, the yellow gentlemen and many other men arrive. After many men leave Tom goes inside the tower, but he never returns. After about a day peter goes inside to find tom, only to realize, not all the men had left, two had stayed behind. He overhears their conversation and he realizes that; they have killed tom, they wanted to kill the queen, they were going to do it during the play ”Henry the Fifth” and that the actor, John Somers, that was in the old company peter use to work in, burbage’s, will be the one to kill the queen. When kit whistles, as a sign to tell peter that someone had arrive he falls down the stairs trying to hide from the men.

This book takes place in the Elizabethan era, which means that queen Elizabeth the 1st was on the throne. The English were at war the Scots and the Spaniards. The queen of Scotland was Mary, queen Elizabeth’s half sister. The king of Spain was Phillip the 2nd. Phillip and Mary were allies and when Elizabeth executed Mary for trying to assassinate her and steal the throne of England, so Spain had a good reason to try and invade England. But Spain did not succeed. In the Elizabethan era, actors were not highly thought of. They were not as respected as actors today. Women were not allowed to be part of a play, only men were and so this meant that men had to play the parts of women.A thing that was very important in acting was your status. Your status determined how much you got paid, (if you got paid at all) and it also determined what kind of training you received.
